10. Plump Hill, Lea Bailey and Wigpool

  1. Plump Hill, Lea Bailey and Wigpool – Approx 9 miles – Moderate to Strenuous – 10:00- £5

Park just off the A4136 at Plump Hill GR658170 to walk through forest and farmland on the Gloucestershire/ Herefordshire border. This is a moderate walk but there are 3 significant ascents and 8 stiles. There is about ½ mile of road walking. Please bring plenty of water and a packed lunch. The route takes woodland tracks to Puddlebrook before following a stream through Lea Bailey enclosure. From Dancing Green the walk crosses farmland to East Dean before climbing to Wigpool Common and following the ridge back to Plump Hill.
