17. Boundary Stone Walk (part 2)

  1. Boundary Stones Walk (part 2) – 9.5 miles – Moderate – 10:00- £5

After last year’s walk in the Soudley Valley looking for some of the 218 stones erected in 1832 to mark the then boundary of the forest, this year the search will be in the Oldcroft, Whitecroft and Bream area. Park in Oldcroft by the Nag’s Head pub GR642068.

This moderate walk includes farmland, woodland and villages and includes a number of stiles. It crosses fields from Oldcroft to Yorkley and then meanders through Pillowell and Whitecroft. More farmland is crossed to reach Bream where several boundary stones were located. The walk returns to Oldcroft via woodland paths and tracks. Please bring plenty of water and a packed lunch.
