3. Coppet Hill

  1. Coppet Hill

Saturday 4th September 09:30 £5

The walk starts by the Wye at Kerne Bridge and follows the river bank downstream past the memorial to the crashed plane site and along by Welsh Bicknor youth hostel, once a large house. The church is in private hands but is occasionally open. Passing Lydbrook on the other side the river starts to bend with Coldwell rocks opposite and Symonds Yat Rock ahead.  The path then leaves the riverside and follows a signed route up the wooded hillside of Coppet Hill following  the ridge before reaching the road at Goodrich and returning to Kerne Bridge.  Some stiles, good paths and a medium steep ascent up Coppet Hill.
