4. May Hill to Speech House

Follow the Gloucestershire Way through farmland and forest, enjoying spectacular views across the Severn Vale. Park at Speech House Woodlands car park, off the B4226 at GR623124, be driven to May Hill and enjoy the walk back.

This is a challenging walk, but back by popular demand. There are 6 long and/or steep ascents and 2 sharp descents. There are 23 stiles. Please bring plenty of water and a packed lunch.

After climbing May Hill, the route descends to, and passes by, Longhope before tackling the long ascent to the top of Pool Hill. It then descends to Abenhall before climbing again to the top of Plump Hill. The route then passes through forest via Nailbridge and Crabtree Hill to reach the Speech House Woodland car park.
