Park in Tintern near the Abbey, GR 532000 and board a minibus to Hewelsfield from where the walk will follow paths through fields and woodland back to the Abbey. Although described as moderate, there is one very steep descent into the Wye Valley.
Please bring plenty of water and some refreshment. As the walk ends in Tintern at your transport, there will be an opportunity to buy lunch there if you so wish. The route leaves Hewelsfield and uses field paths and country lanes to reach Woolaston Slade. It then passes through woodland and a nature reserve to arrive at Tidenham Chase Church. The walk continues through farmland and woodland to the Devil’s Pulpit, before descending steeply to the river Wye. It concludes by crossing a former railway bridge into Tintern.
