19: Kymin Night Walk

  1. Kymin Night Walk – 2.5 miles – Moderate – 21:00- £5

This walk starts at dusk to give an arrival at the Kymin by nightfall. The view is always spectacular whatever the weather.

Length: 2.4 miles

Time: 1 ½ hours depending on time spent at the viewpoint.

The start time will be just before dusk so that arrival at the Kymin is in the dark. Bring a torch. Stout walking shoes /boots advised.

Total ascent 414 feet. Gentle slopes 1 stile several kissing gates.

Grading: Easy/Moderate

Parking: At Broadstone Farm on the A4136 (left hand side travelling towards Monmouth).

The route follows a gentle walk up the Duke of York Road with views across the Forest. Cross over 1 stile  & cross fields with views over Redbrook Valley, then head for the top of the hill on the Offas Dyke Path. Arrive at the Kymin passing the Naval Temple. The route back crosses fields and an old Holloway back to the start.
